Experimental Study and Numerical Simulation Analysis on Reinforcement of Mortise-Tenon Joints with Flat Steel Strips

To study the aseismic performance after reinforcement of mortise-tenon joints folk houses with traditional Chuan-Dou style wood structure and their steel plate, test specimens joints—two for Tou joints, two Ban dovetail joints—were fabricated out hemlock, plates were utilized to reinforce one joint each type on middle part joint. By carrying pseudo-static tests building ABAQUS numerical model; position where be reinforced by was optimized a comparative analysis into results unreinforced numerically simulated bending moment-turning angle hysteresis curve, skeleton energy-dissipating capacity, rigidity degeneration curves. The showed following: pulling-out phenomenon tenons severe, superior tenons; reinforcing could effectively reduce amount promote but have an insignificant promotive effect bearing capacity joints; improved significantly flat strip moved upper lower ends ultimate capacities being 1.5∼2.4 times that joints.
